The Communications Commission (the Commission) is aware of a problem affecting many television viewers in the South of the Island, who are served by the Port St Mary transmitter. The issue involves poor signal and frequent dropping out of the non BBC channels on Freeview.

The Commission is in regular contact with the relevant organisation which manages the television transmitters and an engineer been to the site to investigate.

The likely cause of the problem is believed to have been identified and a replacement part is being couriered to the Island. It is expected that the problem will be fixed by early afternoon on Wednesday 19th September 2018.

Affected television viewers are thanked for their patience whilst the problem is rectified.
