The Authority has published Information Notice 09/26 to advise it has granted Manx Radio a non-commercial DAB Multiplex Transition Licence.

The Authority has published Information Notice 08/26 confirming the extension of the Public Service Broadcaster (Manx Radio) Licence until 30 September 2026.

Following responses to its recent consultation, the Authority determined that while some issues are resolved, further consultation is needed to address remaining matters. The Authority is currently in the process of undertaking a further consultation to address remaining matters and to facilitate this, the PSB Licence has been extended.

The Authority has today published its Response to Consultation on the Draft Gas (Economic Regulation) Bill.

The document sets out the responses received to the Consultation on the Draft Gas (Economic Regulation) Bill (20/25), published in August 2025, and the Authority’s analysis and Decisions after reviewing all the matters at hand.

The purpose of this Consultation on the Draft Information Memorandum for Broadcasting Licence Award (01/26) was to set out the preliminary details, processes and procedures the Authority will employ for the Auction and Broadcasting Licence Award.

This Consultation closes Tuesday 3^rd March 2026.

Following the completion of the Annual Gas Tariff Review the Authority can confirm that there will be no changes to regulated gas tariffs in January 2026. 

The next scheduled review is due to be carried out in June 2026.

The Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority has today published its Response to Public Service and Broadcaster Licence Consultation and Decision (29/25); this follows the Consultation on the Public Service Broadcaster Licence (01/25). Representations received outlined some issues where further clarity would be useful for all stakeholders, accordingly the Authority is going to hold a further consultation on those matters. These are related to quantifying the overall amount of Manx Gaelic content broadcast and the status of the Manx Radio Gold service as part of the Public Service Broadcasting remit.

Following a request to extend the deadline for submission of representations on Document 27/25 : Consultation on the Introduction of an Essential Use Broadband Product for the Isle of Man; the Authority has decided, after considering the request,  to extend the consultation period until 5pm on the 11th December 2025.

In April 2024, a Tynwald Motion tasked the Authority with implementing measures “which would support the carrying out of essential online activity by users facing financial barriers to accessing the internet.”  adding that this should be “a low-cost, basic service that can be supplied using the products which are currently available on the wholesale markets and will help prevent affordability from being a barrier to internet access.”   

The purpose of this consultation is to allow interested parties to comment on the Authority’s preliminary proposals on a low cost, basic service broadband product designed to meet the needs of those for whom affordability is  a barrier to accessing online services (Essential Use Broadband product).

The Authority has published Information Notice 26/25 confirming the extension of the Public Service Broadcaster (Manx Radio) Licence until 31 March 2026.

Following responses to its recent consultation, the Authority determined that while some issues are resolved, further consultation is needed to address remaining matters. Additional time is therefore required to finalise the consultation process.
