Planned Mast Maintenance - Douglas, Laxey and Port St Mary- 15th July 2024 - 26th July 2024

IndustryThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority has been notified of planned maintenance work on the Douglas, Port St Mary and Laxey masts which may affect users TV/Radio signal.
The scheduled maintenance will take place between 10am to 4pm beginning on 15th July 2024 with an estimated completion of 26th July 2024.
Further updates will be published if there are any changes to the works.

EMERGENCY Douglas Mast Maintenance - Fault on Transmitter - UPDATE

IndustryUpdate as of Monday 10th June 2024 - The emergency repairs have been completed.
The Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority has been notified of planned emergency maintenance work on the Douglas mast which may affect users TV/Radio signal.
The emergency maintenance will take place between 10am to 4pm beginning on 4th June 2024 with an estimated completion of 14th June 2024.
The maintenance is to replace a broken part on the transmitter.
Further updates will be published if there are any changes to the works

Electrical Maintenance on TV Masts- 20th May 2024 to 31st May 2024

IndustryThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority has been notified of planned essential electrical maintenance work on the television masts at Glen Maye, Jurby and Douglas which may affect some viewers' television reception.
The planned maintenance will take place between 9am - 5pm between 20th May 2024 and 31st May 2024.

09/24: Notice Of Findings Network Incidents January 2024

IndustryThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority (the Authority) has completed its enquiries into network incidents that occurred in January 2024.
The Authority found that on these occasions Manx Telecom did not breach its regulatory obligations and no further investigation is required.
While no breach was found to have occurred, the Authority would expect Manx Telecom to proactively audit its network to ensure that alarms are configured for the relevant elements of its network. The Authority would also expect Manx Telecom to satisfy itself that automatic failover systems to rectify faults are periodically assessed for effectiveness.

08/24: Investigation into Manx Telecom’s alleged non-compliance with Universal Service Obligations for the provision of telephony services and associated tariffs

IndustryThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority (the Authority) has opened an investigation into Manx Telecom’s alleged non-compliance with its Universal Service Obligations for the provision of telephony services and associated tariffs.
Manx Telecom has Universal Service obligations (USO) to uphold, which not only ensure that Manx consumers can have access to telephony services regardless of which communications provider they subscribe to for other services, but also ensure that all consumers pay fair, uniform prices for their service.
The Authority has formally requested that Manx Telecom provide further information in connection with this investigation and will issue a further notice regarding the investigation and its findings in due course.
