Reminder: Planned Work at Jurby

ConsumerThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority was notified of planned maintenance work to the mast in Jurby, which may affect some viewers' television reception in the north of the island.
This is a reminder that planned maintenance is scheduled to take place in the early hours of the morning (from midnight to 2am) of Monday 9th August 2021.

ConsumerThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority has been notified of planned maintenance work to the mast in Jurby, which may affect some viewers' television reception in the north of the island.

Update on Disruption to Freeview Television

ConsumerThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority (CURA) were made aware of a problem on the west of the island with disruptions to Freeview television stations. We worked with mast operators and engineers to investigate and fix this issue.
The Authority can confirm that all issues have since been resolved and viewers on the west of the island who previously had issues with their televisions should now be able to receive all available channels.
We would like to thank affected viewers for their patience and understanding whilst we investigated and resolved the issue.

ConsumerThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority (CURA) is aware of a problem on the west of the island with disruptions to Freeview television stations. We are continuing to work with mast operators to resolve this issue. We advise that viewers do not retune their televisions.

Notice of Application for Broadcasting Licence

ConsumerThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority (the Authority) gives notice that an application has been received for an additional FM radio station on the Island. The Authority has not made any determination as to whether it would be appropriate to award an additional FM licence.
The Authority invites representations on the above in order to inform its decision making. Any representations should be made by 8th June 2021.

BBC Radio Reception Issues Resolved

ConsumerThe Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority (CURA) was made aware of a problem with the reception of BBC Radio stations, specifically BBC Radio 4. We understand that these reception issues have since been resolved and we are continuing to monitor this.
